Cockscomb Cryptantha

Erect short-lived perennial. Stems stout, 1 to several, densely covered with bristles. Leaves very narrow, bright green, 1–3 in. long, mostly crowded near ground; stem leaves reducing in size upward. Inflorescence is showy head of large white flowers with 5 petals. This showy plant can be seen in the east Columbia River Gorge and other dry places at low to mid-elevations.
