Columbia Goldenweed

Multibranched pungent shrub with very black old wood, slender young shoots covered with sticky resin. Leaves linear to narrowly oval, usually less than 1/2 in. long, with tip curved downward. Flower heads single or few at stem top, white or very pale yellow. Ray flowers none to 7, disk flowers 10–15. Mostly found in crevices on basalt outcrops, rocky soils.
