Cushion Fleabane

Cushion plant, very low. Stems hairy and glandular. Leaves mostly basal, to 3 in. long, narrowly oblong, with some hairs; stem leaves smaller. Flower heads large, with 15–45 pink to dark purple ray flowers 1/4–1/2 in. long; yellow disk 3/4 in. across. Grows in dry rocky places, foothills, among sagebrush, below 5000 ft. Steens Mountain in southeastern Oregon is the southern limit for this uncommon daisy.
