Geranium viscosissimum

Sticky Geranium

Erect to ascending, covered with sticky glands noticeable to the touch. Leaves nearly round, 1–4 in. wide, palmately divided, with 5–7 diamond-shaped leaflets that are variously lobed again. Flower petals 1/2–3/4 in. long, with soft hairs near center, deep pink to rose-purple, with red to purple veins. Grows in meadows, near edges of sagebrush-steppe in coniferous forests and aspen groves, at mid to high elevations. Var. incisum is without sticky glands on lower stems and petioles.
