Dwarf Hulsea
Small plant covered with glands and long hairs. Stems numerous and erect. Leaves in basal rosette many, spoon-shaped, 1–2 in. long, divided, with rounded lobes. Flower heads single on leafless stem, with 12–30 ray flowers, many disk flowers. Grows in volcanic talus, sometimes in abundant colonies, in Cascades, Wallowas, subalpine, alpine. Note that H. algida in same environment has only 1 stem to a plant and about twice as many ray flowers.
