Alpine Lake Agoseris

Tuft of lobed leaves, erect flower stem containing milky sap. Stem is hairless below flower head. Basal leaves 2–10 in. long, narrow to widely oval, coarsely toothed to deeply lobed, usually hairless. Single flower head of cup with green bracts is evenly covered with purple dots, 13 to many rays, withering soon after opening. Grows on rocky slopes in subalpine.
