Broadleaf Knotweed

Stems ascending, red, branched to 12 in. long, more or less angled at the joints in zigzag fashion. Leaves broadly oval to round with very short or no stalks. Most leaves congested near ends of stems, few evenly spaced below, persisting throughout season. Flowers white, pink, solitary on short stalks at joints on stems. Grows in meadows, open rocky places, at low to high elevations.
