Spreading Stonecrop

Mat-forming perennial, succulent, hairless. Many sterile shoots ascending. Stems fleshy, to 5 in. long, with numerous green to bright red succulent leaves. Leaves oval to ball-shaped, with wrinkles or dimples. Leaves on flower stems oblong, convex. Flower clusters 1/3–2 in. across atop 2–5 in. stems. Flowers yellow; 5 lance-shaped petals with pointed tips curve out, star-like. Grows in gravelly areas or rocky slopes at mid elevations and in subalpine areas.
