Alpine Death Camas

Stem erect from basal clump of grass-like leaves. Leaves coated with blue powder, 4–20 in. long, narrow, flat or folded, few along stem reducing in size upward. Inflorescence is open cluster 2–6 in. long at stem top. Flowers cream, with a green V-shaped gland near base of each petal forming circle inside flower, petals about 1/2 in. long, stamens same length. Grows in wet meadows, bogs, lakeshores, at high elevations. Poisonous.
