Elegant Cat's Ear

Stem ascending, slender, often weak or bent. Basal leaves 1–2, green through flowering, 4–8 in. long. Flowers 2–6, facing upward. Petals greenish white to pale lavender-white, purple crescent near base, hairy with long straight hairs along edges except for hairless pointed tips. Grows in open, rocky soils at edges of forests at mid- to high elevations.
