Alpine Gold Daisy
Tuft of basal leaves, erect stem holding large flower. Leaves oblong to round. Basal leaves to 1/2 in. long with some soft hairs, varied petiole lengths; stem leaves few, much smaller, sessile. Single flower head to 1 in., golden yellow, with 25–70 rays 1/4–5/8 in. long, yellow disk, green in center. Pink to purple hairs on bracts just under flower heads. Grows in rocky ridges, pumice slopes, in alpine and subalpine.
