Western Mountain Balm
Stems erect, green or reddish. Leaves lance- to widely egg-shaped, entire, densely to sparsely hairy, green to gray, often tinted reddish. Flower heads flat, in a shallow cup of upright bracts, the outer bracts reflexed or spreading. Flowers pink, purple, lavender, or soft white, with woolly hairs on lobes of calyx. Grows in sagebrush and mountain forests at mid to high elevations.
