Broad-Leaved Penstemon
Large, upright. Leaves broadly egg-shaped, with wide base, strongly saw-toothed, lower on short petioles, stalkless on upper stem. Inflorescence gland-covered, loose to tight whorls of many flowers. Flowers deep blue to purple, 3/4 in. long, hairy staminode extending slightly outward. Grows at low to mid elevations in shady places on mossy rocks and outcrops.
