Northern Green Bog Orchid

Erect stem with green flowers. Leaves only on stem, lance-shaped, 2–5 in. long. Inflorescence includes flowers, leaves in loose to dense spike with flowers attached at leaf axils. Flowers green to yellowish green; 2 upper petals and sepal nod together, covering rest of flower; lower petal tapers smoothly to sharp point; round spur noticeably curved, with rounded point. Grows in wet conifer forests from coast to subalpine. Found above Arctic Circle. Hyperborea means "beyond the north."
