Tonestus lyallii
Upright stems from branched roots, plant coated with glands. Leaves spoon-shaped, 1/2–2 in. long, entire. Flowers in solitary head 1–2 in. across. Cup of lance-shaped, glandular, green or often purplish bracts. Ray and disk flowers yellow, numerous. Grows in alpine ridges, talus slopes, sandy places in subalpine.
