Illinois River Valley, Oregon

The Illinois River Road heads west from US 199 at Selma, with many opportunities for roadside botanizing. Eight Dollar Mountain, also near Selma, has one of the highest concentrations of rare plants in Oregon. Rough and Ready Botanical Area, near Cave Junction, is another special place with high plant diversity on serpentine soils.
