Wing-Fruited Mariposa Lily
Stem erect, stiff. Leaves consist of 1 flat basal and 1 bract-like stem leaf. Flowers 2 in. across, white, lavender, or reddish, with red blotch in center of petal; at petal base, nectary glands have few long hairs around shorter yellow hairs covering nectary. Grows in sunny open meadows, edges of wooded slopes, at mid- to high elevations.
