Stems spreading to 6 in. with some hairs. Leaves divided into linear segments. White cup-shaped flower has sepals and petals 3/8 in. long, with green lines inside and white hairs at base of petals. Calyx covered with long white hairs on both sides. Grows near vernal pools in the Rogue River valley in Jackson County, Oregon. Showy. Rare and endangered. Very similar L. floccosa subsp. pumila is hairless, smaller, usually less than 4 in. tall, with petals 1/4–1/3 in.; grows only in 2 locations in Rogue River Basin of Jackson County, Oregon, at edges of vernal pools; very rare and endangered.
