Narrow-Leaved Everlasting

Prostrate plant from central root, gray throughout with matted hairs. Leaves erect, 1–2 in. long, very narrow, occuring in tufts from base and along flower stem. Flower stalk erect, with tight cluster of 2–24 cone-shaped flower heads. Cup of dark brown to black bracts with lighter tips, flowers hidden in dull whitish fluff. Grows on dry ridges and hills.
