Pine Broomrape
Erect, with fine-stemmed glands. Stem slender, with many overlapping bracts, base larger. Flowers in dense inflorescence elongating and becoming less dense with age, tinted pale purple. Calyx tube and lobes are about the same length. Flowers pale yellowish or yellowish brown with hairs at base of stamens, lobes all erect and tinted pale purple. Roots attach to Holodiscus, ocean spray, but not known on conifers. Uncommon in rocky soils, open forests, below 7000 ft.
