Aruncus dioicus
Stems several, erect, from creeping roots, robust, hairless, holding large leaves. Leaves slightly hairy, divided pinnately 3 times to center vein; leaflets widely oval, 1–6 in. long, sharply toothed with pointed tips. Dioecious. Flower stalks in loose groups on stems above leaves. Flowers white, tiny, hanging or drooping in dense long strings; male and female flowers on separate plants. Grows in streambanks, edges of moist conifer forests, roadside ditches, at low elevations.
