Hartweg's Wild Ginger

Asarum hartwegii
Tight clumps of evergreen leaves. Leaf dark green, heart-shaped, with white marbling along veins, hairs along edges curling toward tip. Flowers face upward but are under leaves; dark brownish red tube is white inside with red stripes, covered with bands of white hairs. Tips of flower tube end in a point but not an extended tail. Grows on rocky places in dry open woods at low to subalpine elevations.
