Hairy Balsamroot
Cluster of gray silky-haired leaves rises from a thick root. Leaves 4–12 in. long, divided into linear-oblong segments. Flower head single on leafless stem; ray flowers about 1 in. long. Grows along eastern Columbia River Gorge and throughout steppe. Differs noticeably from B. incana, hoary balsamroot, which is larger and very hairy.
