Beach Evening Primrose

Densely hairy, prostrate to upright stems from rosette of leaves. Leaves gray, narrowly oval to egg-shaped, with tiny teeth. Flowers solitary along elongating stems in leaf axils. Flowers small, nodding, 4 petals, yellow fading reddish, sometimes with 2 red dots at base. Seedpods with 4 angles, usually coiled halfway to all the way around. Grows on coastal dunes, sandy beaches.
