Upright stem with glandular-spreading hairs. Leaves 1/3–2 in. long, linear to lance-shaped, may be divided into 5 lobes. Flower spike 2–6 in., egg-shaped, green bracts with linear to lance-shaped lobes. Flower calyx divided unevenly, hairs stiff, some glands, flower deep yellow, straight beak, lower lip generally purple-dotted at base, stigma extended. Grows in grassy places at low to high elevations in the Klamath Mountains.
