Castilleja rupicola
Cluster of short ascending stems with unbranched fine hairs. Leaves linear to lance-shaped, upper ones divided into 3–7 sharply cut lobes. Bracts, calyces scarlet on outer portion. Flower about twice as long as calyx, narrow, with thin red margins, lower lip dark green. Grows in subalpine meadows, basalt cliffs, alpine ledges, talus of the western Columbia River Gorge, at high elevations.
