Upright or prostrate, with many branches, taprooted winter-hardy annual or biennial, hairless. Leaves parsley-like, deeply divided pinnately to many linear segments. Flowers in short spikes atop stems, yellow with short rounded spur curved downward. Grows in moist to dry soils, open to lightly shaded areas, at 5000–7500 ft. Corydalis means "lark" in Greek, referring to the spurs, which are similar to those of larks.
