Upright, with blue-green waxy powder on leaves and stems. Leaves pinnately divided into many short oval lobes. Flower spikes crowded with many flowers. Flowers white or pink with purple tip; spur 1/2–2/3 in. long from point of stalk attachment. Grows in damp, shady places, mostly along streams, at mid-elevations.
