Roundtooth Ookow

Stem erect. Leaves flat, shiny, about same length as stem. Flower cluster is a round dense ball atop stem. Flowers 10–35, blue-purple or sometimes pink, above oval bracts streaked with purple. Flower constricted above the ovary, lobes spread out or backward, 3 white to pale purple, tooth-like projections at base have rounded tips, edges roll inward. Grows in the foothills in clay or heavy soils, grass to scrubland, below 6000 ft.
