Blue Dwarf Fleabane

Erect, with many unbranched stems from root. Stem with sparse, tiny, white hairs. Leaves on lower stem 1/2–2 in., linear to lance-shaped, with wide whitish base, sessile, partly surrounding stem. Flower head above leaves single atop leafless stalk, 1/4–1/2 in. across. Ray flowers 15–25, blue or pink. Disk flowers yellow. Grows in open areas in sagebrush, juniper woodlands, dry pumice slopes, at mid to high elevations.
