Erect, gray-haired throughout. Stems stout, 1 to several. Leaves many, narrow. Basal leaves numerous, linear, entire or toothed, 2–4 in. including long petiole; stem leaves similar, becoming sessile above. Flowers pale yellow in dense clusters at top. Seedpods ascending, 2–4 in. long, flat with slender point, on stout stalks. Grows in dry slopes, sandy soils.
