Geranium oreganum

Oregon Geranium

Upright. Stem hairless to soft-hairy, glands on upper section. Leaves 2 1/2–5 1/2 in. wide, nearly round, deeply divided into 5–7 segments, the top 3/4 of segments lobed. Flower with 1–2 in. stalks; 5 petals 2/3–1 in. long, nearly round, red-purple. Grows in open prairies, oak woodlands west of Cascade Mountains from near sea level and upward in northern Oregon, and in more moist shaded conditions at higher elevations in southern Oregon and California.
