Sea Milkwort

Stem erect, fleshy. Leaves opposite on stem, sessile, about 1/4–1/2 in., oblong to linear, with rounded tip. Flowers solitary in axils, stemless, white or pinkish, small cup-shaped tube with 5 lobes and 5 stamens. Grows in coastal marshes, tidal flats, beaches, also in brackish marshes and alkaline flats inland. Note that the flowers do not have true petals.
