Small-Headed Tarweed
Small, very slender, widely branched stems. Stems with soft hairs below, glands on upper sections. Leaves few, linear, to 1 in. long, sometimes toothed, clustered at joints. One or few flower heads tightly clustered. Flowers consist of 3–5 inconspicuous pale yellow ray flowers, 1–2 yellow-anthered disk flowers. Grows in open forests, shrublands, at mid to high elevations. Easy to miss unless many plants are growing together.
