Giant-Seed Lomatium
Prostrate, finely haired. Stems very short. Leaves hairy, divided pinnately 3 times, create fine low-growing net of foliage, gray with purple underneath. Inflorescence held on stems beyond foliage. Flowers very small and white, yellow, or purplish, with turned-down bracts under only one side of cluster. Grows in rocky slopes, woodlands, at low elevations. Named for the large seeds, macro meaning "large" and carpum, "fruit."
