Bird's-Foot Trefoil
Stems solid, decumbent, ascending from small root. Stems and leaves hairless or with a few rigid hairs. Leaves divided pinnately to 5 leaflets, lowest 2 are stipules, 3 leaflets at stem tip. Flowers 3–8 in circle on long leafless stalk, bright yellow turning brown with age. Naturalized in disturbed soils below 3500 ft. Often planted as a pasture species.
