Malva neglecta
Stems prostrate, with tips growing upward, densely hairy. Leaves circular to kidney-shaped, with shallow lobes. Flowers 1–6 in cluster at base of leaves, petals pale lilac or white with darker penciling and hairy base, each about 1/2 in. across. Found in disturbed places. Called cheeseweed because the fruits are round and flat like a wheel of cheese. Common weed of lawns and gardens at low to mid elevations.
