Cusick's Monkeyflower

Densely hairy. Stems upright. Leaves opposite, linear to oblong, tips sharply pointed, covered with sticky glands. Flowers on short stalks, with 5 more or less equal lobes, medium pink to rich magenta, with yellow bands in throat margined by slightly deeper pink but no darker colors. Grows in moist to drying sandy or gravelly places in desert steppe. Often creates extensive shows in early summer.
