Leafy Mitrewort

Tuft of 1–2 1/2 in. nearly maple-shaped leaves with 3–7 sharp-toothed lobes. The only mitrewort with a few leaves along flower stems. Flower stem 2–12 in. tall, flowers on short stalks, blooming from top to bottom. Flowers greenish, stamens alternating with petals. Petals linear, with 5–7 feathery lobes. Style unlobed. Grows in swampy soils to deep woods from coast to mid elevations.
