Basal rosette of leaves. Stems slender, erect to prostrate. Leaves shiny, narrowly linear, becoming fewer near top. Inflorescence tall, sticky, small-flowered. Flowers pale blue to violet, about 1/3 in. long, consisting of 2 erect upper lobes and 3 larger lower lobes with 2 rounded lighter-colored humps in flower center, round-tipped spur. Grows in gravel or moist sandy soils in open areas at low to mid elevations.
