Upright stems. Leaves pinnately divided, with odd-numbered leaflets 15–21, oval, 1/2–1 in. long, upper surface finely red-dotted. Flowers in dense short spike on leafless stalk. Pink or red pea flower more or less 1/2 in., 2 side petals very small, with larger keel and banner. Keel with blunt end. Grows in disturbed places at mid elevations. Native of Eurasia.
