One-Sided Wintergreen
Erect stems woody at base, unbranched with arching tops. Leaves with short petioles, only on lower stem. Leaf blades evergreen, widely egg-shaped, 1/2–2 in. long, entire or finely toothed. Flowers hang from one side of upper arching stem. Flowers cream to greenish white, closed bells with straight style projecting out. Grows in dry to moist, shady conifer forests at mid- to high elevations. Circumboreal.
