Persicaria lapathifolia
More or less upright, branched, willowy-looking. Leaves lance-shaped, petiole with plain brown shiny appendage at base. Inflorescence on gland-coated stalks, drooping spikes of white, pink, most often greenish flowers that remain closed. Grows in moist soils, meadows, swamps, roadsides, at low to mid-elevations.
