Upright, spreading by runners. Leaves to 15 in. long, with nearly hairless petioles, upright to spreading, divided pinnately into many pairs of small and large leaflets with woolly hairs on underside, toothed. Flower single, small, with leafless stem; petals yellow, oval. Grows in wet marshy places, along streams, beaches, coastal dunes, sand flats, estuaries along coast or near coastline.
