Western Red Raspberry

Slender, erect to arching bramble. Stems purple or yellow, often coated with whitish powder, armed with thinly spaced straight thorns. Leaves divided, 3–5 oval leaflets, petioles and midveins usually thorny and glandular. Leaflets sharply toothed, shiny on top, densely coated with white hairs underneath. Flowers clustered, white. Berries yellowish or light red. Grows in streambanks, open meadows, moist woods, thickets, at low to mid-elevations.
