Large-Flowered Brodiaea
Stem erect, with flowers at top. Leaves 1–2 from base, linear, less than 1/2 in. wide, 12–20 in. long. Flower stem topped with 6–20 large, pale to deep blue flowers with deeper blue-purple midvein, on stalks about 1 in. long in an open umbel. Flowers have funnel-shaped tube with 6 flared segments, outer lobes ruffled, 2 sets of stamens very unequal with pale blue tips. Grows in meadows, on open hillsides, in sandy or heavy soils, from near coast to sagebrush-steppe.
