Black Huckleberry
Robust shrub, erect, with smooth stems, not rooting at the nodes, and yellowish green twigs. Older branches with grayish shredding bark. Very thin leaves are yellowish green, oval, with pointed tip. Solitary flowers are pinkish, widely urn-shaped, maturing into purple or reddish black berries. Grows in wet meadows, forests, at mid to high elevations. Berries edible, delicious.
