Basal leaf rosette and upright flower stems coated with gland-tipped hairs throughout. Leaves greenish gray, lance-shaped, 1/2–3 in. long; stem leaves smaller. Stems not branched. Flowers many in dense round clusters on upper stem. Calyx with long, ridged straight hairs, 5 white petals wider and longer than calyx, stamens extending well beyond. Found only on rocky serpentine in dry open places at low to mid-elevations.
